The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the official respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7 and to take action on their representation dated 15.05.2026 (Annexure P-4). 2. At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners have recently filed a representation on 15.05.2026 before the Superintendent of Police, Malerkotla (Annexure P- 4) raising their grievances as mentioned in the present petition but the same has not yet been considered and no action has been taken thereon.
