Prayer in this petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for directing respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7 by providing them security. Further prayer has been made for directing respondents No.4 to 7 not to harass, humiliate and interfere into the life of the petitioners. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners states that both the petitioners are major and they are living in live-in-relationship against the wishes of private respondent and have sought protection to their life and liberty. They apprehend danger from the private respondents. The petitioners have submitted a representation dated 06.05.2026 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala, District Gurdaspur, Punjab. 3.
