The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant and release pensionary benefits to the petitioner in respect of the qualifying Government service rendered by him w.e.f. 23.08.1983 to 24.12.1998, in accordance with Rule 5.3 of the Punjab Civil Services Rules, Volume-II.
