244 IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M-10347-2026 Date of decision: 05.05.2026 MANDEEP SINGH ...PETITIONER V/S STATE OF PUNJAB ...RESPONDENT CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE SUBHAS MEHLA Present: Mr. Vikram Jeet Singh, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Subhash Godara, Addl. A.G. Punjab. **** SUBHAS MEHLA, J. (ORAL) 1. This is the second petition seeking regular bail to the petitioner in case bearing FIR No.142 dated 22.07.2021 registered under Sections 304 and 427 of IPC at Police Station Subhanpur, District Kapurthala. 2. Learned State counsel, at the very outset, submitted that the case before the trial Court is pending for defence evidence and arguments since 17.10.2022 and for the last more than 03 years, the petitioner/accused has not adduced any evidence, nor he is coming forward to address arguments, hence, there is a delay on the part of the petitioner. He further stated that the next date before the trial Court is 20.07.2026. 3. On this, learned counsel for the petitioner limited his prayer to the extent that the trial Court be directed to decide the case in a time bound manner and submitted that the petitioner will not delay the proceedings.
