The present petition has been filed by the petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to permit the petitioners to submit their options for the vacant stations in District Tarn Taran/Kapurthala and thereafter re-allot them the said vacant stations in District Tarn Taran/Kapurthala, in accordance with their merit, which had not been put under the option list and thereafter, the candidates are being adjusted in pick and choose manner. 2.
