APURVA 2026.05.29 17:12 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/judgment High Court, Chandigarh CWP-31824-2025 (O&M): Petition herein is, inter alia, seeking a writ in the nature of Mandamus, directing the official respondents to renew the petitioner’s passport by setting aside the letter dated 19.02.2025 (Annexure P-5), issued by the Regional Passport Office, Delhi. 2. Learned counsel appearing for the respondents informs the Court that pursuant to the application for renewal of passport submitted by the petitioner, the passport authorities had sought certain information/clarifications from the petitioner. However, since the petitioner failed to respond to the same, the said application stands closed as on date. 2.1 Learned counsel appearing for the respondents further submits that in case the petitioner files a fresh application seeking renewal of the passport, duly supported by all requisite documents/information, the same shall be considered and a final decision thereupon shall be taken by the competent authority (as the circumstances may warrant), in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of submission of such application by the pe
