(Oral) In the present writ petition, the petitioners are praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to count the service rendered by the petitioners on the post of Special Police Officers (SPOs) as qualifying service for the purposes of retiral and pensionary benefits, in terms of the judgment passed by this Court in CWP No.9936 of 2017 titled as Sukhjeet Singh and others Vs. The State of Punjab and others, decided on 15.02.2018 (Annexure P-5). 2. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners, on instructions from the petitioners, submits that he will be satisfied if, at this stage, a direction is given to respondent No.2 to decide the legal notice dated 16.10.2025 (Annexure P-8) served by the petitioners in a time-bound manner. 3.
