The present petition has been filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioners for correction of their post’s classification as downgraded from Group-B to Group-C, in IHRMS Portal, GIS, ACR, Service Book and in other important platforms/record on the ground that the advertisement was issued for Group-B post and even the entire selection process was carried out/conducted by mentioning the post of Inspector as Group-B post and even in the other departments of the Government of Punjab, the post of Inspector is Group-B post. Further, to grant the petitioners pay scale of Rs.10300-34800 + 4400 GP. 2.
