The petitioner has filed the present revision petition against the impugned judgment dated 01.05.2017, passed by the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar (Mohali), whereby, the appeal filed by the petitioner was ordered to be dismissed and upheld the impugned judgment of conviction and order of sentence dated 04.02.2016, passed by the Court of Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Dera Bassi, whereby the petitioner was ordered to be convicted for the offence punishable under Section 21(1) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (for short the Act) and was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year and to pay a fine of Rs.2,500/-. In default of payment of fine, he was to further undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 10 days
