The jurisdiction of this Court has been invoked under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of an appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of habeas corpus, directing respondents No.1 to 3 to produce the detenues, namely Sandeep Singh, son of Sh. Surinder Singh, and Smt. Amarjit Kaur, wife of Sh. Surinder Singh, who are alleged to have been illegally and unlawfully detained by respondents No. 3 to 6. 2.
