The present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing respondent No.3 to consider and promote the petitioner to the post of Head Warder w.e.f. 27.03.2026 i.e. the date on which his junior has been promoted, by opening the sealed cover containing the result of the petitioner, which has been directed to be kept in sealed cover during the proceedings of the Departmental Promotion Committee merely on account of the pendency of a court case against the petitioner. Further, to grant the petitioner all consequential benefits including arrears of salary upon re-fixation and revision of pay on promotion to the post of Head Warder as well as all other admissible allowances and service benefits along with interest @ 18% per annum. 2.
