The petitioners have filed the instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ of certiorari for quashing the order dated 24.12.2025, endorsed on 12.02.2026 (Annexure P-21), whereby the claim of the petitioners for grant of one step higher pay scale than the maximum pay scale drawn by Clerks/Junior Assistants (which is a re-designation of Clerks), has been rejected. Further, seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant the petitioners one step higher pay scale than Junior Assistants i.e. Rs.4550-7220 w.e.f. 01.01.1996 with all consequential benefits along with arrears and interest @ of 12% per annum. 2.
