The instant petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to release the pay scale of Rs.1800- 3200 w.e.f. 01.01.1986 in view of the recommendation of IIIrd Punjab Pay Commission and in view of the decision of this Court in CWP No.7512 of 1995, titled as Ram Pal and others Versus State of Punjab and others, decided on 01.08.1996 (Annexure P-4), and a direction may also be issued to the respondents to release the pay scale of Rs.6400-10640, as admissible to the post of Superintendent Statistics, from the date of his promotion to the post of Superintendent Statistics in view of the revised pay scale/notification dated 19.05.1998.
