It is submitted by learned counsel for applicant that the applicant was Lekhpal and it is alleged that the applicant has obtained illegal gratification of Rs.5000/- from the complainant to correct his name in the revenue record. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the applicant has been falsely implicated in the present case. The maximum punishment under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act is seven years. The applicant has no criminal history and is languishing in jail since 24.12.2025 and in case he is released on bail, he will not misuse the liberty of bail and will cooperate in the trial. 3.
