The present petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short - ‘the BNSS’) for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case bearing FIR No.42 dated 24.04.2026 (Annexure P-1), under Section 61 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (for short - ‘the Act’) registered at Police Station Sherpur, District Sangrur. 2. Allegations qua the petitioner are that 5 plastic cans containing 200 litres of lahan were recovered from his residence. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner prays for discretionary relief of anticipatory bail to the petitioner on the following grounds: i. The petitioner has been falsely involved in the present case; ii.
