The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members at the hands of respondent No.7. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had entered into business dealings with respondent No. 7 relating to labour and transportation work, due to which, certain monetary transactions took place between them. It is further contended that despite substantial payments made through banking channels, respondent No. 7 continued to threaten, harass and coerce the petitioner and his family members with regard to certain documents concerning property owned by the petitioner's wife. 3.
