At the outset, Mr. Raghav Goel, AAG, Punjab, on instructions from Ms. Radha Rani, Superintendent, submitted that the present petition may be disposed of as having become infructuous in view of the fact that out of the eight petitioners, six of them have already been promoted and the remaining two are still in service and after completion of the minimum period required in their present post for being considered for promotion, they will also be considered in accordance with law. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that liberty may be granted to the petitioners to the effect that in case any cause of action still survives, then they may be permitted to move an appropriate application for revival of the present petition.
