The petitioners through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondents to pay them assessed amount of compensation on account of damage to wheat crop due to heavy rainfall and hailstorm in the year 2005. They are also seeking interest @ 12% per annum with effect from 20.04.2005. 2. The petitioners are farmers and residents of village Abul Khurana, Tehsil Malout, District Sri Muktsar Sahib. Their wheat crop was damaged in the year 2005 due to heavy rainfall and hailstorm.
