In the present writ petition, the petitioner has challenged the order dated 18.05.2020 (Annexure P-5) vide which the service rendered by the petitioner in Military has not been taken into consideration for the purpose of increments and pension. 2. Brief facts of the present case are that the petitioner was enrolled in Army on 23.07.1971 and retired from Army on 25.02.1987. After retirement from Army, the petitioner was recruited in the Punjab Police as a Constable on 17.12.1991 under the ex-serviceman quota. The petitioner on attaining the age of superannuation, retired from the post of Head Constable on 30.04.2011. As per the petitioner, in light of the notification dated 15.10.2009 (Annexure P-1) issued by Department of Defence Services Welfare, Govt of Punjab, the service rendered by the person in Army/Military service had to be
