Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the State respondents. 2. The present petition has been filed by the petitioner challenging the order of the Prescribed Authority/Superintendent of Police, Jaunpur, dated 19.12.2025, rejecting his application for issuance of a character certificate on the ground that a criminal case is pending against him in Case Crime No. 308 of 2024, under Sections 351(2), 352, 115(2) and 191(2) of BNS. 3. It is contended by the counsel for the petitioner that mere pendency of a criminal case under the aforesaid sections of IPC is not an impediment for issuance of the character certificate.
