Petitioner through authorized person/Sarpanch (Gram Panchayat of Village Rauwal Jafarpur, Tehsil and District Gurdaspur) has filed the present petition praying therein to direct the respondents No.2 to 5 to initiate appropriate proceedings against respondents No.6 to 8 and other unknown persons, who have illegally cut the trees from the panchayat land, resulting in huge financial loss. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that despite the fact that after the trees from the panchayat land were illegally cut by respondents No.6 to 8, the matter was immediately reported to the police authorities including a representation dated 29.05.2026 having been filed, but no action has been initiated till date.
