The present First Appeal is filed under Section 23 of the Railway Claims Tribunal Act, 1987, by the appellant challenging the judgment and order dated 18.04.2023 passed by Railway Claims Tribunal, Ahmedabad Bench, Ahmedabad, in case No.OA(IIu)/ADI/2016/0092, whereby the learned Mem- ber (Judicial) allowed the claim petition and directed the opponents to pay compensation of Rs.8,00,000/- to the claimants for death of deceased. 2. Brief facts of the case are that, according to the claimants, on 15.01.2016, the deceased – Vinod Rawat, was travelling from Ahmedabad to Vadodara Railway Station by a passenger train with a valid ticket.
