The prayer clothed in the instant writ petition is for issuance of a direction to the respondents to permit the petitioners to participate in the selection process for allotment of vacant stations falling within their respective districts and to allot them new stations on the same terms and conditions as were applicable at the time of their initial joining, along with all consequential benefits, before the transfer/promotion process is finalized. 2.
