The present is the second petition under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (corresponding to Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973), seeking the grant of regular bail to the petitioner during the pendency of trial in FIR No. 0144 dated 05.12.2024, registered under Sections 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, at Police Station Longowal, District Sangrur. 2. As per the prosecution, the present FIR was registered on 05.12.2024 on the allegations that a police party headed by ASI Sarwan Singh was present in the area of village Kunra for patrolling, when the petitioner was allegedly apprehended while driving a white Swift car.
