Prayer made in the present petition is for directing the respondents to offer appointment to the petitioner on the post of Auction Recorder pursuant to Advertisement No.14/2007 or in the alternative, quashing the selection dated 26.08.2008, Annexure P5, might not be surviving due to efflux of time especially in wake of there being no interim order. 2. Learned State counsel, on the other hand, states that there was backlog of 56 posts of reserved category as indicated in the advertisement and excluding the same, reservation was not more than 50%, as has been alleged in the petition. 3.
