Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of appropriate directions to respondents No.1 to 3, to protect the lives and liberty of the petitioners, who apprehend threat to their life at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 10 and other family members and associates of petitioner No.1, and to decide the representation dated 10.07.2026 moved by the petitioners. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners are in live-in-relationship and are being threatened with dire consequences by the private respondents. Resultantly, a representation dated 10.07.2026 (Annexure P-6) was also made to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Pathankot, District Pathankot, Punjab, for protection of their lives and liberty but in vain.
