Prayer in the instant petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of appropriate directions to respondent Nos.2 and 3, to protect the lives and liberty of the petitioners, who apprehend threat to their life at the hands of private respondents, and not to harass or interfere in the peaceful life of the petitioners. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners are in live-in-relationship and are being threatened with dire consequences by the private respondents. Resultantly, a representation dated 13.07.2026 (Annexure P-3) was also made to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, District Tarn Taran, for protection of their lives and liberty but in vain. Learned counsel submits that he would be satisfied if directi
