The petitioner is seeking regular bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) (Section 439 Cr.P.C.) in FIR No.57 dated 19.03.2020 under Sections 420 and 120-B of IPC registered at Police Station Sector 36, U.T. Chandigarh. 2. The case of the prosecution is that the FIR has been registered on the basis of the complaint of Ms. Urmila Kanwar, who alleged that she was duped in a cyber fraud. She befriended a person on Facebook who induced her to transfer money on the pretext of customs clearance and other charges for gifts purportedly sent to her. Acting on his representations, she transferred more than ₹6,00,000/- into the bank account specified by the fraudsters before realizing that she had been cheated.
