Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Standing Counsel, and perused the record. 2. At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners prayed for and permitted to correct the date of the restoration application as mentioned in the prayer clause of the writ petition, during course of the day 3. The petitioners have invoked the extraordinary jurisdiction of this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, inter alia, seeking the following relief:- "a) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent No.2 (Consolidation Officer, Imiliya, Mau) to decide the Restotration Application dated 25.08.2007 in Case No. RST/0867 of 2007, Computerised Case No. 200754155156030867 (Satiram Versus State), Under Section 9-A(2) of U.P. C.H.Act, pending since 2007 within stipulated time." 4. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that
