Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Standing Counsel, and perused the record. 2. The petitioners have invoked the inherent jurisdiction of this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, assailing the order dated 20.11.2025 passed by the Settlement Officer of Consolidation (in brevity 'SOC'). 3. Learned Standing Counsel as well as learned counsel for the Gaon Sabha have raised a preliminary objection with respect to the maintainability of the instant writ petition against the order passed by the SOC on the ground of availability of an alternative remedy to approach the Court of the Deputy Director of Consolidation. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioners has admitted the availability of an alternative remedy against the order passed by the SOC. 5.
