HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD WRIT - A No. - 283 of 2026 Ranvir Singh .....Petitioner(s) Versus State Of U.P. And 3 Others .....Respondent(s) Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Ram Kumar Pal Counsel for Respondent(s) : C.S.C. Court No. - 33 HON'BLE VIKAS BUDHWAR, J. 1. Heard Sri Ram Kumar Pal, learned counsel for the petitioner as well as Sri Prashant Kumar Mishra, learned Standing Counsel for the State. 2. A preliminary objection has been raised by learned Standing Counsel that against the order dated 26.11.2025 of Superintendent of Police, District Fatehgarh, an appeal lies under Rule 20 of the Uttar Pradesh Police Officers of the Subordinate Ranks (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1991 (in short 'Rules, 1991). 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner shall prefer an appeal but in the meantime, the order may be accorded that no recovery be made. 4. In the opinion of the Court, once the petitioner prefers an appeal before the appellate authority in terms of Rules, 1991 he can always file an application for restraining the respondents from recovering the amount. 5. With the said observation, the writ petition stands disposed of. January 14, 2026 R.S. Tiwari (
