Heard Sri Anand Kumar Srivastava, learned counsel for the writ petitioner and Sri Rahul Malviya, learned Standing Counsel for the State. 2. The grievance of the writ petitioner is that he was appointed on the post of Constable on 01.11.1985 further promoted on the post of Sub Inspector on 01.12.1998 and Inspector on 26.01.2016. The writ petitioner claims to have been promoted on the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police, however, the promotion exercise stood undertaken but in the meantime, the writ petitioner retired on 31.08.2025. 3. Prayer in the present petition is for grant of pensionary benefits treating the writ petitioner to have been promoted on the post of Deputy Inspector of Police. 4. Learned Standing Counsel submits that the claim of the writ petitioner needs adjudication at the first instance by third respondent, Additional Director General of Police, Administration of U.P., Lucknow. 5.
