The case of the writ petitioner is that he was engaged as a Home Guard in the year 1987. According to the writ petitioner, his date of birth is 20.01.1969. However, in the service record, it was shows to be 01.09.1965. The writ petitioner stood retired on 31.01.2025. The writ petitioner claims to have preferred an application for correction of the date of birth. 3. Prayer in the present writ petition is to continue the petitioner till 2029. 4. Learned Standing Counsel on the other hand submits that at the fag end of the career and even in the present case, once the writ petitioner has retired, it is not open for the writ petitioner to get corrected his date of birth.
