The instant public interest litigation has been filed for the following relief: "(1) Issue appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding respondent No. 2,/District Magistrate, Prayagraj, to take necessary and appropriate steps for the removal of the illegal encroachment made by respondents Nos. 6 to 9 (villagers of the Second Set) upon the land bearing Gata No. 917M, admeasuring 1.6020 hectares, recorded as "Abadi" in the land revenue records of Gram Sabha Mahuli, Vikas Khand Baharia, Tehsil Phoolpur, District Prayagraj, which falls within the category of Class 6(2) land under the relevant revenue classification in accordance with law.
