The petitioner has invoked the extraordinary jurisdiction of this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus commanding the Consolidation Commissioner, U.P. at Lucknow (respondent no.2) to decide the representation moved by the petitioner for promulgation of a notification under Section 6(1) of UP Consolidation of Holdings Act with regard to Village Sherwan, Pargana Kariyat Dost, Tehsil Sadar, District Jaunpur. 3. It is submitted that the Consolidation Lekhpal submitted a report to the Settlement Officer of Consolidation, on the basis of a meeting convened on 12.09.2024, recommending cancellation of the consolidation operation; however, since then, no fruitful steps have been taken by the consolidation authorities, despite representations having been made by the village
