The case of the writ petitioner is that in pursuance of the recruitment drive so sought to be initiated by the respondents, the writ petitioner applied for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police under the dependent of freedom fighter category. The selection year of the writ petitioner is 1985 and he came to be appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police on 05.01.1989.
