Heard Sri Ravi Kumar Mishra, learned counsel for the writ petitioner and Sri Gaurav Singh, learned Standing Counsel for the State. 2. The case of the writ petitioner is that an Advertisement no. 02/13/C- 1/PCS-2023/2023-24 was issued by the U.P. Public Service Commission. The writ petitioner participated in the preliminary and main examination under Scheduled Caste category and he was also posted as Addl. District Information Officer, Hamirpur. It is also the case of the writ petitioner that as against 251 successful candidates, 75 candidates were declared successful for the post of Deputy Jailer in Jail Department of the State. In para-15 of the writ petition, it has been asserted that three incumbents have been accorded joining as Deputy Jailer. 3. Prayer in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondent to consider the claim of the writ petitioner for joining as Deputy Jailer.
