This petition, purportedly in public interest, has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the respondents for disposal of the proposal pending with the State Government for installation of the statue in question. 2. A perusal of the record indicates that based on a policy dated 23.09.2008, a communication has been sent by the District Magistrate to the Special Secretary seeking guidance, which it is claimed, continues to remain pending. 3. In view of the fact that the communication sent by the District Magistrate continues to remain pending with the State, the State is required to take a decision on the said communication based on the policy relied on/any variation thereof, as the policy was formulated way back in the year 2008. 4.
