This petition, purportedly in public interest, has been filed by the petitioners seeking direction to the respondents to make payment of the arrears of sugarcane price for crushing sessions 2023-24 and 2024-25. 2. A perusal of the petition indicates that the petitioners themselves are claiming payment of the arrears amongst others. 3. Filing of PIL for payments for the petitioners and all others, cannot be countenanced. If the petitioners have any due, they can always approach the competent authority/forum seeking payment. 4. Filing of PIL for the said purpose cannot be countenanced. The petition is, therefore, dismissed, leaving it open for the petitioners to take appropriate proceedings in accordance with law.
