This petition, purportedly in public interest, has been filed by the petitioner seeking cancellation of permission dated 16.10.2025 granted by the respondents for organizing a Mela at Icon Sugar Mill premises, Deoria for the period 01.11.2025 to 15.02.2026. 2. The petition has been filed on 22.01.2026 whereas the Mela in question is continuing since 01.11.2025 and is due to end on 15.02.2026. No reason has been indicated in the petition why after passage of almost three months, the petitioner chose to file the present Public Interest Litigation. 3. When a query was made that the apprehension that by setting up of the Mela, the life of the citizen would be endangered, whether any accident had taken place over a period of three months, the answer was that none of the accident had taken place. 4.
