By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has prayed for a direction to the respondent no. 3 to consider the request of the petitioner for stay of the departmental proceedings in the face of the fact that petitioner is faced with similar charges in criminal case in which the witnesses are same to be utilized by the department in the departmental proceeding. Learned counsel for the petitioner has taken plea of paras 492 & 493 of the U.P. Police Regulations which also refers for departmental authorities to await the final outcome of the departmental proceedings.
