By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus to command the respondent to consider the claim of petitioner for promotion on the next higher post of Sub-Inspector as according to him many Head Constables of his batch have already been promoted as Sub-Inspector. 3.
