By way of this writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner, who retired on 30.06.2016 as a Technical Superintendent from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi [‘IIT-D’], seeks the benefit of one notional increment that would have accrued to him on the day immediately following his retirement. 2. I have heard Ms. Richa Kapoor, learned counsel for the petitioner, 3. The petitioner joined IIT-D as a Security Guard on 06.02.1984 and continued in service until 30.06.2016, when he attained the age of superannuation. At the time
