The petitioner has been disqualified from the post of Sub- Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces1 on the ground that he suffers from a left-sided Deviated Nasal Septum2. There are concurrent findings by the Detailed Medical Examination3 and Review Medical Examination to the effect that the petitioner has left-sided DNS. 2. Mr. Ajay Veer Singh, learned Counsel for the petitioner has drawn our attention to the instructions issued by the Ministry of Home 1 “CAPFs”, hereinafter 2 “DNS” hereinafter 3 “DME” hereinafter Signature Not Verified Signed By:PREETI W.P.(C) 16151/2025 Page 1 of 3 Signing Date:29.10.2025 16:43:28 Affairs4 with respect to the medical standards for recruitment to the Delhi Police and CAPFs. They state inter alia that patients who are suffering from “mild and moderate DNS with both nasal airways” may not be rejected. 3. He points out that the DME and RME reports do not categorise the DNS from which his client is suffering as to whether it is mild, moderate or otherwise. 4. Mr. Singh further submits that DNS is a curable affliction and that the petitioner has undergone a surgery after which he does not suffer from the said disability any more. 5.
