The petitioner has approached this Court seeking grant of parole for a period of two months, for the purpose of filing Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Hon‟ble Supreme Court to challenge his conviction in case arising out of FIR bearing no. 732/16, registered at Police Station Punjabi Bagh, Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 354/354B/511/376/506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 [hereafter „IPC‟] and Sections 10/18/6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 [hereafter „POCSO Act‟]. The petitioner is presently confined in Central Jail No. 2, Tihar, Delhi, as he has been convicted in the aforementioned case vide judgment dated 11.01.2024 by the learned Additional & Sessions Judge-01 (West), Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi [hereafter „Trial Court‟] and has been sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 07 years and to pay a fine of Rs. 1,00,000/-, and in default of payment of same, to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of 150 days, for commission of offence punishable under Sections 506/511/354/354B of IPC and Sections 10/18 of POCSO Act.
