Being convicted and sentenced by the Sessions Court, the appellant has preferred the present appeal seeking setting aside of the judgment of conviction dated 26.07.2019 vide which he has been convicted for offences punishable under Section 6 POCSO and Section 376 IPC, and the order on sentence dated 29.07.2019 vide which he has been directed to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 10 years for the offence punishable under Section 6 POCSO along with payment of fine of Rs.20,000/-, in default whereof he was directed to further undergo simple imprisonment for 6 months. The FIR in the present case came to be registered in connection with an incident dated 21.09.2014, when DD No. 27-A was recorded at 9:23 P.M. on the basis of a call made by the father of the victim. The statement of the victim was recorded, wherein she stated that in the evening of 21.09.2014, she, her brother, and another child were playing on the roof of A‟s house.
