This writ petition has been filed against an order dated 29.9.2025 passed by the District Magistrate, Bareilly under section 3(1) of the U.P. Control of Goondas Act, 1970 (hereinafter referred to as the 'Act'). 2. Learned AGA has opposed the writ petition and submits that the petitioner has an efficacious alternative remedy of filing an appeal under section 6 of the Act. 3. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned AGA, we do find substance in the submissions made by learned AGA. 4. Under such circumstances, without entering into the merits of the case, we provide that if the petitioner files an appeal within a period of 15 days from today then without going into the question of limitation, the appeal shall be decided within the next one month.
