This petition was filed in 2019 as Public Interest Litigation inter alia seeking a writ of quo warranto with regard to the alleged illegal appointment of Chairman and Member Secretary of U.P. Pollution Control Board i.e. opposite parties no. 5 and 6. The said persons are no longer functioning as Chairman and Member Secretary. Other persons have been appointed subsequently. As regards framing of Rules sought in relief no. 2, the same have been framed, as informed by Mr. Ashok Kumar Verma, learned counsel for the Board, namely, The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (Conditions of Service of Chairman and Member Secretary) Rules, 2021.
