The present petition is filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 181/2022 dated 05.05.2022, registered at Police Station Safdarjung Enclave, for offences under Sections 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (‘IPC’), including all consequential proceedings arising therefrom. 2. Chargesheet has been filed in the present case under Sections 498A/406/34 of the IPC. 3. It is averred that the marriage between Petitioner No.1 and Signature Not Verified Signed By:SANJAY CRL.M.C. 8290/2025 Page 1 of 6 KUMAR Signing Date:24.11.2025 21:23:04 Respondent No. 2 was solemnized on 18.12.2018 as per Hindu rites and ceremonies. Thereafter, due to matrimonial discord, some misunderstandings took place between the parties, due to which petitioner and Respondent No. 2 started living separately. Petitioner Nos. 2 and 3 are the parents of Petitioner No.1. 4. Subsequently, Respondent No.2 made a complaint against Petitioner No. 1 and his family members alleging that she was subjected to cruelty by them, which later culminated into the present FIR. 5. The present petition is filed on the ground that the matter has amicably been settled between the parties by way of a Settlement dated 21.07.2025 out of their own free will.
