The present Appeal has been filed on behalf of the Appellant under Section 173 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 impugning the award and judgment dated 29.11.2023 [hereinafter referred to as “Impugned Award”] passed by the learned Judge, MACT-01, Central District, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi. By the Impugned Award, an amount of Rs.28,49,600/- along with interest at the rate of 9% per annum has been awarded as compensation. As per the Impugned Award, the Appellant (owner of the offending vehicle) is liable to pay the compensation jointly and severally along with the driver of the offending vehicle. 4.
